Hivniv is the name of the Ukranian village where my father,
Joseph "Yehuda" Remer was born. The shtetle is also
known as Ugniev in Ukranian or Uchnow in Polish.
During our research of the name "Remer", we have been
able to reach as far back as 1800. The web site will continue
to provide ongoing research material as it becomes available.
